creator of Ivory Soap was the original owner. Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3 After
another hot breakfast, you’ll discover the hidden treasures of Amish Country on
the backroads of Ohio. Your local guide will escort you to Warther Carving where
Ernest “Mooney” Warther discovered early in his carving career the importance of
knives that would hold their edge against ebony and ivory. Unable to find
carving knives of such quality, he decided to make his own. Thus, out of
necessity, came the world’s finest kitchen cutlery. The fourth generation of
knife makers still produces outstanding kitchen cutlery with the same expertise
and fine craftsmanship. See Mr. Warther’s carvings and enjoy the beautiful
gardens and knife shop before you leave the tour of farmlands. Lunch will be on
your own at Grandma’s Alpine Homestead which offers a fabulous soup and salad
buffet. After lunch, you’ll visit Lehman’s Old Fashioned Hardware and General
Store and Yoder’s Farm where a tour of the house, buggy rides and the Cheese and
Amish Bakery will round out your day. The day would topped off with an Amish
dinner at an Amish Farm. Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4 The hotel will provide a hot breakfast before your departure for
Cambridge. Historical downtown Cambridge is the home of
the National Museum of
Cambridge Glass. View over 6,000 pieces of elegant Cambridge glassware produced
by the Cambridge Glass Company between 1902 and 1958. The company produced
thousands of designs and color combinations and is a much sought after
collectible today. Spend a part of the morning strolling down the tree-lined
streets of Cambridge visiting the unique gift, antique and specialty stores.
You’ll enjoy lunch at Theo’s, a local, family-owned restaurant for sixty years.
Theo’s is known for excellent food and “mile high” pies. After this great
morning, board the coach and say farewell to quaint towns as you travel to
Cincinnati. There will be a farewell dinner at your hotel for the evening.
