Wednesday: Depart Huntsville at 7:00 a.m. and enjoy the company of your fellow travelers. Arrive in Ellijay for lunch (included) and shopping. Downtown Ellijay’s quaint square is lined with historic buildings, antique, craft and gift shops. Don’t miss the Hyatt Hotel, now the Gilmer County Courthouse, the Perry House and the Dr. Watkins residence. Travel on to Helen where you will check in at picturesque Unicoi State Park’s Lodge. Visit Charlemagne’s Kingdom which features 400 feet of railroad track with computerized trains, alpine village with moving cable cars, cities, towns and villages. Experience a unique trip through Germany with replicas of buildings existing in Germany. Over five thousand hand painted figures and hot air balloons, a three ring circus, mountains 22 feet tall, and more will enchant you.

In the evening you will experience the 55th Annual Georgia Mountain Fair celebration with crafts and exhibits, carnival rides and blue grass music. Sample specialties from the many food vendors. Lunch Thursday: Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the hotel and a short walk to the base of Anna Ruby Falls. Travel to Cleveland where you will visit the Babyland General Hospital. At Babyland you will be able to view the newest Cabbage Patch Kids for adoption. You will be able to see how the adoption process begins and have the opportunity to purchase one for yourself or a loved one. What an ideal gift for the child in us all! Your adventure takes you next to Dahlonega for shopping and lunch at a special place. There are many quaint shops around the square in Dahlonega. Your evening meal at The Smith House will be a scrumptious and delightful treat. You’ll be ready to return to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Friday: After another delectable breakfast at the hotel travel to the Blue Ridge where you will enjoy a relaxing ride aboard the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. You’ll be transported back in time as you slowly wind through the vibrant north Georgia mountains alongside the sparkling Toccoa River. Choose from vintage, climate-controlled coaches or open-air rail cars. Enjoy the scent of wildflowers from the open air car. You may hear the sweet, old-fashioned sounds of mountain music from volunteer musicians as the train rolls through the quiet forest. Enjoy a delicious boxed lunch upon leaving the train. Depart for Huntsville with many new memories of the experiences in the north Georgia mountains. Breakfast, Boxed Lunch
